Who We Are

Culture points

Evangelism & Discipleship—Evangelism is the telling of the gospel in a way that is understandable to the child and includes an opportunity to respond. Discipleship is teaching which brings a believing child from immaturity in their spiritual walk to that of one who is coming into conformity with the image of Christ. Mark 16:15; Matthew 28:19-20

Child Focused—That in our ministry we would value each child and be driven by his or her needs (especially spiritual, but not exclusively), desires, understandings and characteristics. Mark 10:14-16; Luke 9:48

Innovative—That we would equip others to be as effective as possible in fulfilling the purpose of CEF in any given circumstance and through a variety of means.
1 Corinthians 9:20-23

Prayer—Communication with God is the foundation of every ministry and decision. It is an exercise of faith toward a prayer-answering God. Philippians 4:6

Christ-Centred—Christ must be the focus and standard of all personnel, ministries, methods of teaching and materials. This calls for perseverance and faithfulness resulting in true unity. 1 Corinthians 3:11

Bible Based—Our ministry is fully grounded on the entire Word of God, a divine gift wholly inspired by the Holy Spirit. It is thoroughly church-related but without denominational distinctive. Those beliefs that are held by all who join with us are encapsulated in our Statement of Faith. Psalm 119:104-106; 2 Timothy 3:16, 17

Globally Minded—While our ministry is carried out on a provincial basis as we work together to evangelize and disciple Canada's children, our focus is also international and we intentionally seek and deploy resources to reach children around the world. Acts 1:8

Empowered Teams—Recognizing the gifts and abilities of our Boards, committees, staff and volunteers, we witness the Holy Spirit's power in their distinct areas of ministry as they lead and serve in harmony and unity. 1 Corinthians 12:6, 7, 12

Excellence—Every aspect of the work, no matter how big or small, has significance. This includes the training we conduct, the materials we produce, the facilities we use and the way we present ourselves. In every area we must strive for excellence to the glory of God. Daniel 6:3

Spiritual Leadership—Spiritual leadership is the highest form of authority. The men and women who lead must have a personal heart for God in order to be able to discern the will of God and lead the ministry effectively. Regardless of the skill of a leader, if he or she lacks a heart for God, the work will be eroded at its very foundation. 1 Timothy 6:11
