Level 1

Teaching Children Effectively (TCE™) Level 1 is designed to offer a fresh approach to evangelizing and teaching children. Based on spiritual and educational principles, the course provides the methods and procedures to lead children to Christ and immediately equips the believer to begin and sustain a ministry where he lives. Student practicums are a vital part of the instructional procedure which makes TCE a refreshing way to train Christians in child evangelism.

Instructors

All course instructors specialize in children’s ministry and are trained and certified by CEF®.

 

Course Accreditation

TCE is an extensive course of the Children’s Ministries Institute in Warrenton, MO. Credit for this course, taken at one of over 280 extension sites across the United States, may be applied toward the complete 12-week diploma program. Academic credit may be available through various colleges. Students can earn five Continuing Education Units (CEUs) in professional education or in Bible for completing this course.

Learn best by doing

It’s our goal and hope that you will use what you learn to reach more children for Christ. In addition to regular coursework, three practicum sessions conducted during the course provide each student with evaluated experience in applying the theory and thought. Students are also required to participate in teaching five children’s classes within 90 days of completion of the course to receive a certificate. All course instructors specialize in children’s ministry and are certified by Child Evangelism Fellowship®.

Course Prerequisites

To enroll in TCE Level 1 you must be:

-A born-again Christian

-At least 15 years of age

-Willing to participate in all class activities including practicum sessions

Level 2

This course is designed to provide information and practical methods which will enable the student to effectively guide the saved child in progressive spiritual growth. The course is based on the premise that effective teaching of the Word of God produces change. Students gain skills which will enable them to offer practical help to children as they develop their personal relationship with God.

TCE Level 1 focuses on teaching an evangelistic Bible lesson while TCE 2 focuses on teaching the saved child.

Two evaluated practicum sessions are included within the course. Five additional required teaching sessions with children enhance the classroom study.

  • Growth Bible Lesson Preparation and Presentation

  • Teaching the Message of Salvation in the Class Hour

  • Basic Needs of the Child

  • Teaching Confession of Sin

  • The Saved Child's Devotional Life

  • Developing the Child's Appreciation of God

  • Being a Witness for God

  • Teaching Missions

  • Christian Conduct

  • The Ministry of Teaching

  • Use of Objectives in Teaching

  • Motivating Faithful Attendance

 

Enrollment prerequisites:

  • Present a TCE Level 1 certificate

  • Be a born-again Christian

  • Be at least 15 years of age

  • Be willing to participate in all class activities including practicum sessions
